Jina Lee B.S.
Research Question: TBA
Jina Lee is an aspiring biomedical researcher who has applied to the Integrated PhD Program in Biomedical Science at Korea University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and Bioinformatics from Ewha Womans University, where she developed a strong foundation in data-driven biological research.
Her research experience includes investigating the relationship between mitochondrial dysfunction and atherosclerosis in mice, as well as modeling neurodegenerative diseases using cerebral organoids at Seoul National University College of Medicine. These projects allowed her to explore both cellular mechanisms and translational approaches in biomedical research.
Jina is particularly interested in studying the role of microglia in neurodegenerative diseases and neurodevelopmental disorders, focusing on their immune functions and intercellular interactions. Her long-term goal is to advance regenerative therapies that activate microglia to improve outcomes for patients with brain-related disorders.
Education:
(2024 - Present) M.S.-Ph.D. Integrated Student, Biomedical Science, Korea University (incoming)
(2021 - 2024) B.S. in Biological Sciences and Bioinformatics, Ewha Womans University
Research Experiences:
Morphology of primary smooth muscle cells from mouse aortas
Protein analysis of senescence marker expression changes
