Akhmedov Akhrorbek Jamshidovich (Alex) M.D.
Alex joined the Yoo lab as a Master’s student through the Korea University Lee Jong-wook fellowship graduate program (Link), a program designed to enhance the global healthcare workforce by inviting talented individuals from partner countries.
Research Question: How do dystrophic microglia differ from other microglial subpopulations in Alzheimer's disease brains?
Alex earned a Bachelor's degree in General Medicine from Tashkent Medical Academy (TMA) in June 2024. As a medical student, he conducted research on infusion therapy under the guidance of Assistant Professor Yusupova B.J. of the Anesthesiology and Resuscitation Department at TMA.
Additionally, he collaborated with PhD Oripov O.I., Assistant Teacher in the Ophthalmology Department at TMA, to study the application of AI in screening for eye fundus pathology. He also investigated the development of tuberculosis in women and men following coronavirus infection under the mentorship of Senior Teacher Ongarbayev D.O. of the Phthisiology Department at TMA.
